All matches will be played in these four stadiums-

According to the ICC, all matches of the T20 World Cup will be played in 4 stadiums in the UAE and Oman. These include the Dubai International Stadium, Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Sharjah Stadium and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.

BCCI had lifted the curtain from the fact that the ICC World Cup T20 tournament will now be held in the United Arab Emirates instead of India. This decision was taken in view of the situation of Coronavirus in the country. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has also informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about this decision. Now the ICC has officially confirmed the matter that the World Cup 2021 will be held in UAE and Oman.

 

 

 

Its host will remain BCCI and now the dates of the competition have also been announced. The ICC has informed that this competition will run from October 17 to November 14 in the UAE and Oman. The special thing is that the BCCI has decided to conduct the next phase of IPL 2021 in the UAE itself. The next phase of the IPL will start from September 29, with the final match on October 15. Although the BCCI has not announced any IPL schedule yet, it is expected that they might make some changes in the schedule to keep some gap between the World Cup and the IPL.

 

 

According to information received from Times of India, BCCI is very flexible about the schedule of IPL and it is trying that the competition ends on October 10 and players get 1 week. Sourav Ganguly, while talking to the Times of India, had told that there will be no problem in the World Cup due to IPL as the first 12 matches of the World Cup will be played between 8 teams as qualifiers and these matches will be in Oman.

BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly said that the Board is looking forward to create a spectacle by hosting the mega event in the UAE and Oman. “The BCCI is looking forward to hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 tournament in UAE and Oman,” Sourav Ganguly said. “We would have been happier hosting it in India but considering the uncertainty due to the Covid 19 situation and the importance of a world championship, the BCCI will now continue to host this tournament in UAE and Oman. The BCCI is looking forward to creating a spectacle.” he added.

 

 

 

ICC also informed that the eight teams competing in the preliminary stage of T-20 World Cup are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman and Papua New Guinea, before the play-off stage and the Final on 14 November.
